No Water supply from 16-19 of July 2008 in Bangalore

Bangalore: Store as much water as possible as your taps will run dry from July 16 to 19.
   
Water supply will be cut in several areas as a major supply line in Cauvery IV Stage, drawing water from T K Halli, will be re-aligned as per a directive of the high court. The supply line, which cuts across the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor at Channasandra on Uttarahalli-Kengeri Road, is scheduled to be shifted as per an approved corridor alignment. The litigation has been on for some time and the HC has directed BWSSB to re-align the supply line.

The shifting will require linking of new lines to the existing ones. For this purpose, pumps will be switched off for three days and water supply will be affected.

BWSSB has advised the public to store sufficient water. Regular supply will be restored on July 20.

The affected areas include:

West division: Nagarbhavi (all stages), Chandra Layout, Vijayanagar, Hampinagar, RR Nagar, Kengeri, WCR 2nd Stage, Mahalakshmi Layout, Magadi Road.
 
North division: Sahakaranagar, Byatarayanapura, Yelahanka, parts of Vidyaranyapura, Dasarahalli, parts of Jalahalli, HMT, Siddathnagar, BIAL.
 
East division: Konena Agrahara, BDA Layout, HAL factory, Defence quarters at Marathahalli, parts of Akashvihar, AECS Layout, Garudacharpalya, parts of Mahadevapura, B-Narayanapura, KIADB area, ITPL.

South-East division: Nanjareddy Colony, Murugesh Palya, Vinayaka Layout, parts of Domlur, Amarajyothi Layout, ISRO domestic campus (defence), NAL, Kodihalli, IIM airport, Koramangala I Block, Teachers' Colony, Jakkasandra Extension, CPWD quarters, KSRP quarters up to 4th Block, HSR Layout.

South division: BTM Layout, JP Nagar, Maruthinagar, Vijaya Bank Layout, Electronic City

Central division: Okalipuram
